The absurd met with the practical, the bouncy castle artist residency is designed to teach, to learn and to most of all explore ideas, issues, Christchurch, art and the public sphere.
A Bouncy Castle was placed on a gravel pit. A sovereign state that has a singular piece of architecture. A resilient preschool runs during office hours. The absurd met with the practical, the bouncy castle artist residency is designed to teach, to learn and to most of all explore ideas, issues, Christchurch, art and the public sphere.
Within their resilient architecture Hana Aoake, Victoria Carran, Zoe Crook, and Louise Rutledge present the Sovereign State of Thin Air. These four artists all practice in the public realm creating performances, installations and instigating activities.
Agenda items included surrealism (playing with food), visiting the wizard and his apprentices, story time, and morning bounce (roll call/assembly). Topics up for discussion included reality vs fiction, guerrilla aesthetic, and the space between my public and your public.
