Makercrate
Location:
City Centre
Date:
2013 April
Makercrate creators took a shipping container and turned it into a digital fabrication lab. It was a social enterprise which focused on creating open access to fabrication technology.
Makercrate founders Bridget McKendry and Carl Pavletich set out to create a “makerspace” that can be used as a vehicle to promote personal fabrication using tools such as 3D printers, 3D scanners and laser cutters. This Fab Lab also acted as a learning tool for people keen to explore electronics and to develop their own products, tools or prototypes.
